DA DITCH

It was a wet weekend at the ditch.  If I jumped one ditch of water I jumped a  100.  But that didn't keep Will from preparing a killer track surface.  And it didn't keep any class from setting any new records.

Drag Radial
After several years of gremlins and breakage, Reed finally got his car right and tuned for kill.  Jeff Reed and Kolivas  are playing reverse roles at the ditch as they do in NMRA.  Jeff as the driver and Kolivas as the crew chief,  Team turbo blew away old records as well as the competition.  Well, he actually didn't even run anybody.  I have never seen anybody go through 4-5 rounds and not even line up against anybody...  Congrats to the winner and new Record Holder Jeff Reed   5.2X @ 12X

After several years, Waddle appeared from the dead .  And with him, the dreaded Black Vette that use to terrorize the streets.  Only now, it's suited for drag radial class.  This car was running on some 16 - 17 inch rims with some independent rear suspension!

Robert Williams was out with the new eye popping GT.  He's got to deal with the "new car" Gremlins that everybody has to deal with.  But look for this car to come around.

Scotty Stites was there in the grandma mobile with the Bling Bling!  The sleigh ended up having some fuel pump problems, but be looking for this car to be fixed come next race.

Crestman who I still have not met in person, showed up.  You can't miss the green machine though.

Mild Street (Sponsored by Southern Speed Racing)
I'll tell you guys what I told Will...  You're not suppose to loose and still have that much fun!  I had a blast... hell, I'm still excited.  We had a 5 cars show up and all the cars ran with in  3 tenths!  A class doesn't get any closer than that.

Turner set a new record in True radial with the ultra light.   The true weight of this car is still a mystery... I've heard 2300lbs, I've heard 2800 lbs, hell, who knows!!!  But this car is one fast 302 based engine.  He has this car optimized for the hard tire, b/c is only 3 tenths off from car's best time on slicks

6.24 @ 1XX  He cut the first 1.5X - 60' in the class! WOW!!!!

Leach ran a  ?personal best? of  a 6.3X @ 1XX mph.  It appears that he's not far from figuring out the SN95 chassis.  I heard he's learning to use a lap top????  That'll get you scratching your head...

Gary sneaked in a 6.5X pass during qualifying...  I believe that may be a new personal best.  All of a sudden, I feel my 6.6X's just aren't going to cut it any more!

Props to the Silver coupe from Gleason, TN.  He made serious efforts to show us how us how they do it in Gleason, TN.  I may need to be taking notes next time.  The boy was running strong.

"Trouble" even ran a new person best of 6.61 with a 1.65 - 60'.  Time to start knocking those Gremlins in the head.  I'll be hunting for at least two more tenths come June!!!

Final round Turner vs Leach on a dew dampened track.  Turner with lane choice, and Leach in the dreaded right lane.  Turner ran a 6.5X feathering the pedal down dew soaked track.  Leach gave great effort only to over power the starting line.

Thanks to Will and Johnny for getting the track together after CONSTANT spring rains.

Score

Mother Nature (0) Vs. DaDitch (1), The ditch prevailed!!!!

Congrats to all the heads up racers... Great show

This what it's all about, kick'n back and having a good time...

Waddle caught on fast... He's not stressing too much either.  Although I am disappointed, I was hoping to get some of that grill chicken he usually brings to the track.

Wade, I believe Chris is up to something... Didn't he win that little grudge match???

Southern Speed's Twin Turbo G8

I think Leach's crew is after me!!!

This has been a common view for me... But I have a feeling things change, soon.

Jeff's telling Chris that he's lucky he still doesn't have his lightening anymore...

This car looks better under the hood, I promise.  It has better pluming than my kitchen too!

Nice new ride for Williams Racing...

Gary, I don't think it's just a 302 any more????

Gleason TN, bringing their heavy hitters to mild street.

It's ULTRA LIGHT, but she's packs a heavy punch!

Well, I guess I'm the last of the 302 cubic inch engines... All my competition has stepped up, I wonder if I should?

Ahh what DA hell, what's a few more pounds of boost!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
